Help Batanes

Super Typhoon Meranti (or Ferdie, as it’s called in the Philippines) slammed Batanes Island on September 12, 2016, destroying thousands of homes and leveling entire towns. Many homes that were not completely destroyed by the 150 mile-per-hour wind, lost their roofs or walls, leaving them completely open to the elements. In addition many crops, water systems and boats were damaged or destroyed, putting people’s food supply at risk. What is more, widespread destruction of communications equipment, and powerlines crippled communication throughout the island and with families on other islands and here in America.

The Ivatans (the indigenous people of Batanes) are picking up the pieces of their lives, but so many are unable to rebuild their homes.
We are Ivatans living abroad, and we are working to give back to our family members and friends at home in whatever way we can. Please, join us in donating whatever you can so we can help restore the livelihood of our fellow Ivatans, and aid them in preparing for the coming winter season.

By working together we can have an amazing impact on the lives of thousands of Ivatans, who desperately need our help.
